First Time: Registering My Online Business (BIR) | PH
My first experience with business registration 😀😀
By the way, I am currently employed, and this business is just my side
hustle. I clicked "For Sole Proprietors, Professionals, Mixed Income
Earners" for Step 1. Once clicked, all the necessary requirements were
listed, including BIR Form 1901 (note: I filled out the 2021 version), a
government-issued ID, a final and clear sample of OWN Principal Receipts
Invoices, proof of payment, and a DTI certificate.
Filling out the BIR Form 1901 was stressful due to the abundance of unfamiliar terms, but fortunately, my brother, a registered business owner, provided guidance. If you are an employee registering a small business, you may use this as a reference.
1. Registering Office - Head office
4. Input your TIN (if currently employed, use your existing TIN)
6. Taxpayer type - Single proprietorship only (resident citizen); I
operate my online business from home and do not rent any facility.
17. Business address - My home address, based on my taxpayer type
21. ID details - I used my PRC ID
23. No - I marked "No" based on my brother's explanation
(reserved for professionals like lawyers and doctors)
29. Put N/A if you will be processing your registration
34 Number found in your DTI certificate:
Primary - Name found in your DTI certificate.
Regulatory body - DTI.
Business registration number - Number found in your DTI certificate.
Business registration date - Indicated in your DTI certificate.
Line of business: Online shop (clothing) (Be specific since the RDO
staff will ask you, and this will also be indicated in your certificate of
registration).
37A: Same number as the business registration number in DTI.
37B: Same as the business registration date in DTI.
38A: I marked X on "other" and indicated online.
40A: Mark X for "Yes."
40B: Mark X for "non-VAT" unless you're earning 3 million or
more.
40C: I just put 1, hehe.
41A: The name of the accredited printer (business) that will print your
receipts. For your reference, click on the link: https://www.bir.gov.ph/index.php/bir-accreditations/list-of-accredited-printers-of-receipts-invoices.html.
41C: This is also found in BIR's list or sample receipt.
41D: This is also found in BIR's list or sample receipt.
41E: This is also found in BIR's list or sample receipt.
41F: This is also found in BIR's list or sample receipt.
41G: This is also found in BIR's list or sample receipt.
41H: In my case, I marked X for "bound" since my accredited
printer will do my receipts/invoices for my business.
41I: Description - Sales invoice.
Type: Non-VAT.
Number of boxes/booklets - 10.
Number of sets per box/booklet - 50.
Serial number start: 001, end: 0500.
Number of copies per set - 2.
For Part VII, I recommend consulting your chosen accredited printer for specific details.
The parts and numbers I did not indicate are blank or left unfilled.
Regarding stamping the books of account, the process is now online through the Online Registration and Update System (ORUS). Register on ORUS, print the QR code, and paste it into your journal, ledger, and other books of account.
